For this post I will show you a work I did for my English class.

What can be imperfect or not normal can be pure beauty for others. In the program The Twilight Zone Eye of the Beholder Janet Tyler  who is the protagonist of this episode is undergoing many surgeries to look as everyone in her world. She is a pretty lady who has been on eleven medical treatments ( surgeries) to look “normal“  as everyone says . She is desperate to be able to be accepted by all the people.

The problem is not that she was ugly, but too much pretty for the society in which she lived. The people of that place lived in a "State" governed by a leader. The real problem was that everyone lived with a malformation on the face. Janet did not had that face malformation , so that is why they all think she is not normal. She even has memories of her childhood were  people look away from her , horrified by her appearance.

At the beginning we can see  Janet Tyler  recovering from her eleventh face surgery in the hospital room 307. As of my point of view this program explains in a different and kind of  weird way how we see or how our society is right now . This have racism ,stereotype ,and discrimination on a different levels .

In a way the problems Janet Tyler has we all have seen them or been somehow in cases like this . Now on this new era if you are not equal or do not follow certain things , people treat you bad. With this I mean that if you do not do or act  as the rest of the people they get in charge to even make you feel worthless. I think that no matter how you are we should all be treated fairly , with dignity ,to treat others as we want to be treated , and most important to love one another .

Summary of Research Article

In this section of Community Profile I will show you some of the work I have been doing as part of an essay for my English class.

Here it is a summary I did from an article.

  In the article “Los Tigres Del Norte” by Jason Birchmeier we learned more about their beginnings and there career of this legendary band. This article is like a biography . No norteño act is more renowned than Los Tigres Del Norte. This group is configured by fore brothers and their cousin. They started with six members. The group members are Jorge Hernandez, Hernan Hernandez, Eduardo Hernandez, Luis Hernandez, and Oscar Lara. There were other two members in this norteño band, who were Raul Hernandez and Lupe Olivo. They left the group to make a solo career. Los Tigres Del Norte left their hometown in Rosa Morada Mocorito Sinaloa Mexico to search of a better future for their family and themselves. Before being Los Tigres Del Norte an immigration official named them “little tigers” because they were kids. Los Tigres started a new never none kind of music. One of there most known type of music are corridos. Corridos is a type of music that describes the problems of society or story of a person. Los Tigres Del Norte have more than fifty years of career , many awards and have help our community.

The Anecdot

          I started knowing everything that Los Tigres Del Norte did like when I was like eight years old. They started there career at a really young age. The oldest one was approximately forthine years old. I mean can you imagine all the things that they had to do being just kids. Being away from everything you knew and your family I would say could be the hardest thing. Changing the smell of your mom's food to the one made in a country you did not now . Looking at a whole new world hearing people talking in another language you barely understood. Remember all this being teenagers. At the beginning I thought that there career was awesome and it is. I mean being able to travel all around the world . People from different countries singing your songs and telling you that you have save them in some way should be the greatest thing. I mean they even had a sort of type of concert in a airplane. So it is literally singing in the sky. Having arenas sold out just of people that want to listen there voices and there love songs and corridos. With all this Los Tigres Del Norte have managed to as people say keep their feets on the ground and help many other people.

         As Jorge Hernandez the lead singer from Los Tigres Del Norte says ,“Dando amor a las personas que tratas y nunca humillar a nadie vas a optener solo cosas buenas.” In other words he means that giving love to people you meet , being humble and treating everyone with respect will make you will receive only good positive things towards your live. I think this is something they really put in action. Los Tigres Del Norte is a group that is also known for being humble and always finding a way yo help people with foundations, chereties, concerts, campaigns, and all sort of things.

Community Profile - Freewrite - Music

We all have someway think that being part of a band or being in the music industry is the easiest and fun career in the world.  For some people it can be this way. On this Community Profile I will try to explain you the good and bad thinks there are in this or of this career. This time I decided to write about this because even that it is not something to detect with the community it is something that gets us all involved. I will talk to you more of a legendary Mexican band , but some things can fit to all of the musicians in general. This band is Los Tigres Del Norte. Maybe you can say that I can not really talk about them because i am not exactly from there generation , but I admire there career and everything they have done.Los Tigres Del Norte are a classic regional mexican norteño group. They have about fifty years with their career. Los Tigres are from Sinaloa ,Mexico but currently live in California. I decided to write about them because how they have been all his years being a public figure there are one of the only ones I can say know about everything , good and bad things. Yes I do know them pretty well in person that you wouldn't believe , and it is a long story. I think that this affects me and many people in different ways. I think that what is happening now on the music industry affect us all. Most important for some of us just by being Lattin's we get bullied and if you add listening to some type of music you get stereotyped .As I already mention there are a band that has done historical things. There one of the only groups that have really help lattin people , and more immigrants.  They have done some massive movements to help people. Well in this essay I will tell you about them , how they have contributed to the community and there good and bad moments.

In the little story “Geraldo no Last Name” by Sandra Cisneros we learn what happens between  Geraldo and Marin. In this story Geraldo's character dies. In one part of the writing Cisneros mentions that “they” never saw certain aspects of Geraldo. With the word “they” I think she means the people in the hospital and people around . With this I mean that for the people in the people in the hospital, nurses, doctors , and for all , Geraldo was just one more patient. For the people that  saw whatever had happened to him “they just look at it as poor guy what a bad luck ” and did not do nothing to help or know more about him. Marin says she can't understand way he metter so much for her if she just meet him once. I think she was concern about Geraldo because they could have knew each other more . In this story she feels a sort of guilt in a way because she did not paid him more attention. It could be that Marin feels more of a mixture of feelings, but I would say it could be something normal. For the rest of the people Geraldo was a normal person who unfortunately had this accident. Marin fealted something more, something special in a way that not even she could explain . At the time that this happened Geraldo did not had any identification papers with him. This is one of the reasons the title of this story is “Geraldo no last name,” no one had a way of knowing more information of him. In the story it says that Geraldo is a brazer that did not speak English. They said that he was an illegal immigrant. For this case he was just one more guy lost in society. In my point of viewing things there are many other reasons a person can be lost in society. I think that even just by not being as social like the rest . You may pass your live as an invisible for the world. Personally I think that this is something that as a whole society we should not allow. No one  should live as an invisible.

Book Out Of My Past

     A Book that I remember the most from my past is The Diary of Anne Frank.The author or this book is Anne Frank. I have read this book about 3 times. The first time I was in 7th grade . It was in my english class. The second time I was at the beginning of my high school senior year as part of my  english class. The third time was just last year during the winter break. I read it again because I felt that I need of reading something that will help me arcuate what I have . Starting with my freedom. 

The three times I have read this book it traped me a lot. I think this book is surprising. I knew somewhat of her story before reading this book. Two of the 3 times I read it because a teacher asigned it. Once I read it alone just because.The Diary of Anne Frank, is a book by Anne Frank . She wrote it while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. I remember this book because it's really catchy . Is inspiring and heartbreaking. Since I had already read the book by the time I saw the movie I understood it more.I could not mention only one part that I liked of this book. I like all the parts were Anne was happy. One of this parts could be when she started "dating" Peter Van Dann. I would recommend this book to anyone in the class because it is interesting to learn more about things that happen in history . More because we read it from a girl that was there ,and lived everything. I also recommend the movie of Anne Frank. This movie shows you more about her live, it shows important things about the diary.

Ya Veremos

Movie

In the movie “Ya Veremos”   the main characters are Santiago and his parents; Santiago lives with his dad. One day Santi's dad notice that something was bad with him they decided to go to the doctor to check. Santiago is getting blind the eyes doctor wants to make him a surgery to save his vision .Santy has a half probability of getting completely cured or losing all his vision with this probabilities he makes a list of all the things he wants to do. Santiago wanted to all the things with his mom and dad , with some trouble they did almost everything even a trip to Acapulco were Santiago's parents fell in love , but Santiago escape to “La Quebrada.” He lost his view ,so they had to make him an emergency surgery. After everything, Santiago was able to see good again and everything was perfect again.

Famous Person Reik

Reik is a pop band from Mexicali B.C., Mexico.The members are Jesus Navarro , Julio Ramirez, and Gilberto Marin whom started officially in 2003. There first album was named Reik too from 2005 which gave the band there first hits “Yo quisiera” , “ Sabes” , and more.They have been nominated for fife times to Latin Grammy Award and fourteen times to Premios Lo Nuestro they won a Grammy in 2009. Reik was  in the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in February 2015 and  won the Silver and Golden Seagull after their presentation.They have 5 studio albums and 2 live ones, this albums and there singles have been in the top places of some known world wide lists . I know Reik in person and they are really sweet and gentlemen.

    This post will be of a work I did for my English class . I had to talk about a Tattoo I had or really like.  So this is the Tattoo and what I did.

      Tattoos are a body art that expresses many feelings and things. For some  people their tattoo is a sign of honoring a loved one, expressing feelings in a different way or represent something meaningful, every tattoo has a reason and a purpose and represents something really special for its owner. I do not have any tattoos on my body, but I know many people that do. There are some people that tattoo their pets, others just do symbols and/or phrases. Tattoos are a way to show the world in a different way who you are.

 I know a young man that has a tattoo of his tiger. He said that the meaning of his tattoo is love, power, sacrifice, determination, and a way to remind him to never give up. His tiger tattoo is located on the upper side of his right forearm. The tattoo is half of a face of a Bengal Tiger. If you see it from far distance you would think it is just a black tattoo, but once you get closer you can see that it is a really detailed tattoo. The stripes of the tiger are in black, there are in a tilted shape so it looks like the fur. The most catching part of his tattoo is the eye of the tiger. It seems super realistic. It has some kind of green, blue, and white mixed colors. It looks like it is really looking at you. At the beginning I did not understand the way he decided to make that tattoo. After he explained me his reasons I thought it was something really sweet for him.

My friend decided to get this tattoo to symbolize love. He said that with this tattoo he always feels the company of his pet wherever he is. Years ago he had a Siberian tiger, but after his first birthday they had to be seperated. Now he has one bengal tiger,  another siberian tiger, and two jaguars. I think he also made the tattoo in memory of his first baby. I did see a change in my friend’s self-esteem after having that tattoo done. He has always been a happy guy, but now he is super positive, also super in to gym and sports. He has been one of the only people that I have seen with this change after a tattoo. I have met other people that even get like a type of depression after the tattoo. Maybe it is because it did not end up as they wanted or they weren't one hundred percent sure of getting a tattoo done. That is why you have to think more of what you would do with your body.

I choose to write about this tattoo because I think it is a really different, surprising and even sweet tattoo. Some people think of tattoos as something that is just of style or do them just because. Others are totally against them. As of my point of view I do like to look at some tattoos, but I would never have one done on me.  I think it is unnecessary to go through so much pain on our bodies. I think I will only have one done only on very extreme condition were I have to cover a permanent scar or to suit something with a need, by prescription only. I think tattoos are a body art that expresses many feelings and things if people know how to make them.

This was another summary I did for my english class . 

      In 10 Pop Culture Icons Who Will Make You Rethink What It Means To Have OCD by Lindsay Holmes I learned a little more of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ,also I learned of some artist with this disorder. Although we sometimes see artist as perfect humans thinking they have awesome lives on this article we see some of them that have OCD , and how they find there way too controle it with the eyes of the world on them. Up too December 12 2017 that was when this article was updated more than two million americans are suffering  OCD. People with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder have frequent upsetting thoughts that are known as obsessions. To get the thoughts and anxiety off ; they repeat some “rituals“. Even though Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is now known even with artists some people do not want to accept they have OCD and get help. The writer here explains the cases of Leonardo DiCaprio , David Beckham, Justin Timberlake , Jessica Alba , Megan Fox , Charlize Theron , and many more. Leonardo DiCaprio said that he remembers starting with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder behavior as a child. His first memories is of him stepping on cracks on the street as a “repetitive ritual .“  Justin Timberlake in 2008 said he struggles with OCD and ADD. ADD is Attention Deficit Disorder. David Beckham confessed in 2006 that he suffers from OCD, noting that he has a compulsive need for everything to be in a proper place. Jessica Alba in 2011 explained in an interview that her OCD about checking doors and appliances used to bring intense anxiety. She said “it was like a panic come over me and I had to do something, and once I did it, I was OK. ... It was really me needing to control something.” Lindsay Holmes explains how and when many more artist said something about there Obsessive Compulsive Disorder . With this article Lindsay Holmes tries to make us to rethink what it means to deal every single day of our lives with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

When Cheers Turn to Abuse Summary

Another work from my english class for this one I had to make a summary / essay of an article we read in class. 

What would you think could be the consequences of offending a player on a game? If you go to any type of game the audience is mean with the players.Well that has been my experiences. On the article "When Cheers Turn to Abuse, Colleges Need to Take Action" we read about a College game case. This was that Oregon students targeted UCLA player an Oregon high school graduate who was now playing in California. In the game most of the students screamed at him really bad things. Some of the worst insults were directly to Love's family . His grandmother cried when the students  chanted " whores " at the family.

I personally do think this behavior is too over the line. Maybe in some cases this can be something normal. I would say that if you are going to attend a game at a  high institution you should act with a good manner. Well I think this because anywhere you go you show what you are and the values your family and institutions have teached you.

Even Though that some places this is normal that people treat the players bad I am in favor of a consequence of this behavor.One god example of this are the mexican soccer games. If you have seen this games the fans scream bad words at the goalkeepers. Maybe in this events it is already like a tradition.

Most Valuable Part (MVP) of Girl, Interrupted

In my English class we read a Novel named Girl Interrupted.

We had to make a writing of what we thought was the  Most Valuable Part of the story.

This is my MVP.

Girl, Interrupted is a  memoir by American author, Susanna Kaysen who is also the protagonist and narrator of this book. Girl, Interrupted begins in April, 1967, as 18 year old Susanna Kaysen is admitted to McLean Hospital after attempting suicide by overdosing on pills. This is roughly the same time that she has a sexual relationship with her high school English teacher, and breaks up with her boyfriend. She has also been engaging in self-harm and has problems with memory loss. Although she denies attempting suicide, a psychiatrist convinces her to spend a few weeks at McLean, a private psychiatric hospital with a good reputation. However, soon after being admitted, Susanna is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. This allows the doctors to forcibly extend her stay from a few weeks to eighteen months. During this time, she gets to know other patients including  Torry , Polly, Cynthia, Lisa Cody, Georgina, and Daisy. One of the most prominent patients is Lisa Rowe, a charismatic sociopath and long-term resident at the hospital. She frequently makes escape attempts, but is always brought back, and the other girls on the ward look up to her. Some of the girls are released during Kaysen’s time in the institute. The patients are devastated when they get word that Daisy, a sweet, thin girl with an eating disorder, has killed herself soon after her release. As well as her fellow patients, Susanna also introduces the reader to many of the staff at McLean. She gets along well with no-nonsense head nurse Valerie, but tends to clash with consultant psychiatrist Dr. Wick.

In this book it is really hard to chose what was the Most Valuable Part (MVP). For me one of the most valuable parts was Torry and  her story. Some people think that this was just an extra character for the story. I think that Torry made the girls see their world a little different. Torrey was a new patient from Mexico with an amphetamine habit, joins the ward. Torrey’s parents blame her for her addiction and the troubles in their family, including her mother’s alcoholism. Torrey is happy to be at McLean, away from Mexico, drugs, and her abusive family. Eventually, Torrey’s parents come to take her home, and Lisa hatches an escape plan. The girls pool their money while Lisa causes a scene to ensure that Torrey will travel to the airport with only one nurse. Torrey is uncertain and scared, despite Lisa’s assurances. But Valerie is a step ahead of Lisa and gives Torrey Thorazine, a powerful sedative, to keep her from running away. In a way with her actions Torry made the girls think something different. I think that with Torry the girls got more together on helping others.

Two Truths and One Lie part2

 For my English class I had to do 2 paragraph of  true live events and one fake 😊
 This is what I come up with

 I will talk about myself but some of this is a lie. I love listening to music all the time. Whenever I can I play my guitar. I even took a music class in high school. It was pretty fun. I like going to concerts. I have gone to many and of many artist. My favorite band is Reik. they are a mexican acoustic band. I have many other bands and singers that I like, but I could say they are my ultimate favorite band. I follow them since I was 4 years old. This year I had the opportunity to attend to a concert of them and hang out with them.

 I am always talking with everyone. I really do not pay attention to important things and events. I really do not like school and mexican music. I am always hanging around with friends and disturbing others. My favorite color is black. I dislike being with my family. I love tattoos. I actually have one on the back of my left ear. It is just like the singers Maluma crown tattoo. I had it made  in my 18'th birthday. And I decided to had a new one done just a little after my high school graduation, This time I choose to have it done on my left ankle.

 I love being with my family and friends. I am the oficial babysitter of my family. I take care of babies and children. Some I have taken care since they are a few days born. I love kids and babies. I think I will be a pediatrician. Maybe. Or a teacher. If I  decide to change in to the teaching profession it will be for preschool,kinder or elementary teacher. Because my love for children is big. I also like animals. my favorite animals are horses,tigers,cub cheetahs and dolphins. I have had some interaction with this type of animals and that is why I believe I would like to have it as one of my options.

Cousin Tattoo

Hi everyone , long time ;

On this post I will show you something  I did for my English class .

For this work I had to write about a tattoo , and this is what I did  for the first part 😊

    Have you ever been intrigued by a tattoo? With this I mean if you have ever seen a interesting tattoo that you want to know what it means. Even way did the person chose to have that tattoo done in his or her body. Well I have and not just one time.

The one that I remember the most is one of a family member. One time my cousins and I were talking about way people have tattoos. Up to what I knew no one of that group had tattoos . One of my cousins told us he had one on his chest close to his heart . He said it was a tattoo of 3 roses. We did not believe him . He said he had done it when he was studying at a university. Now I was intrigued and wanted to know more about it. Way three roses? What was the meaning behind it?

He said it were his mom and two sisters. I was like "that is interesting. " His moms name is Rosa. He says that his mom and 2 sisters are the most important thing for him. With that tattoo he will always in a way have them with him. I think that what my cousin did is really sweet ,even though I personally do not like tattoos. I do not have a picture of his tattoo, but this is kind of what it looks like. I got this picture from the internet.
